The Chapter

The North Carolina Tarheel Chapter was chartered in 1992 and is a state-wide Chapter.

The Chapter meets on the second Saturday of March, June, September and December at different locations throughout the state of North Carolina.

The Chapter has six Regional Vice Presidents.  They are: 
James Bell, Pembroke
Thomas Blankenship, Troy
John Johnson, Fayetteville
Bob Cox, Durham
Richard Speas, Rural Hall
Johnnie Price, Williamston.  

The Chapter provides support for the deployed Troopers of the Division and has made donations to the Division Memorial and the Foundation of the 1st Cavalry Division Association to provide scholarships for the children of fallen Troopers.  The Chapter hosted the highly successful and well attended 53rd Annual Reunion of the 1st Cavalry Division Association in Fayetteville in 2000.

Allen Norris presents the Lt. Gen. John Tolson "Trooper of the Year" award to Jane Fredrickson.  Jane was a prisoner at Santo Tomas when it was liberated by the 1st Cavalry Division during World War II.  She is a strong supporter of the 1st Cavalry Division Association and the North Carolina Chapter.
