The Chapter

The National Capitol Region Chapter was chartered in July 2007.  Its area covers Washington, DC and the surrounding area including Maryland and Northern Virginia.

In addition to the officers listed above, John Keith is the Chapter Historian and Floyd Marsteller is the Chapter Chaplain.

Currently the chapter has approximately 50 members with 30 actively participating on a monthly basis.  The next meeting of the chapter is scheduled for 22 March, 2008.  The chapter breakfast meetings are held at 0900 hours on the 3rd Saturday of each month, except November and December, at the Stafford American Legion, Post #290, in Stafford, Virginia.

Current chapter initiatives include the creation of a State of Virginia 1st Cavalry Division Association License Plate, increased chapter membership, fraternal activities, and support to Veterans groups and organizations.  

The Chapter is attempting to determine if sufficient interest exists amongst First Team troopers and veterans in the state of Virginia to pursue a “1st Cavalry Division Association” vanity license plate within the state of Virginia.  In order to initiate the request with the Virginia  Department of Motor Vehicles, the Chapter must first show proof that at least 350 individuals across the state are willing to pre-register for the vanity tag.  The NCR Chapter requests that all First Team troopers and veterans in Virginia who are interested in pre-registering contact them by e-mail or letter.  Please e-mail the Chapter at ncr1stcavdivassn@yahoo.com  or write the Chapter Secretary (Scott Torgerson) at 15349 Maywood Drive, Montclair, VA 22025-1056.  Please notify the Chapter not later than 30 July 2008 only if you are interested.
